How a Beautiful Pennsylvania Trout Stream is Impacted by Pollution as the Water Flows Downstream
and on to the Chesapeake Bay.
I was honored as President of Eastern Pennsylvania Coalition for Abandoned Mine Reclamation (EPCAMR) to welcome
U.S. Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland, Senator Bob Casey and Congressman Matt Cartwright to the former Harry E breaker in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania. The enormous culm bank, in the process of being reclaimed, was the backdrop for the announcement of major funding from the Infrastructure Bill to clean up abandoned mine land (AML) and abandoned mine drainage (AMD). Special thanks to EPCAMR Executive Director Robert Hughes for organizing this meeting and the subsequent tour with Secretary Haaland at several NEPA  AMD sites. This is great news for Pennsylvania streams and the wild and native trout

that cannot survive without cold, clean water!! Tight lines from Wild Trout Man!!

The snow covered peaks and hungry wild trout eating dry flies make for a memorable and exciting outback experience. Join Wild Trout Man and his life long fishing buddy, Mark, in this stunning Colorado Rocky scenery with some of the prettiest trout on the planet.

My most amazing nature photography and fly fishing moments from 2020 on many Class A Wild Trout Streams in the Susquehanna River Watershed. It features a soundtrack I wrote under the name HOLOMIND.
I think it might be some of my best work yet. Hope you enjoy!!

Fly Fishing the Poconos - Wild Trout on a Dry/Dropper Rig
Welcome to another Wild Trout Man adventure. In this episode I will be chasing wild browns in a small mountain stream with my fishing buddy, Mike. The weather has been quite warm, but we found a cool mountain stream with a really nice flow. So join us as we fly fish this lush mountain stream bursting in brilliant greenery after a late morning shower. Carpets of moss and beds of fern with a thick canopy of sun drenched hemlock are featured in this ethereal landscape sparkling in the afternoon light. This is just the perfect setting for catching wild brown trout in the keystone state of Pennsylvania. We truly hope you enjoy this episode of Wild Trout Man.

These enormous tree stumps were preserved for 130 years in the cold water at the bottom of the man made lake. These stumps along Bowman's Creek showcase the grandeur of the original forest before it was clear cut. Imagine the quality of the brook trout fishery before an axe and saw were taken to the forest. These stumps remind me of the black and white photos of the fallen soldiers at the Battle of Gettysburg. These trees were alive during Pickett's infamous Confederate Civil War Charge. They probably were alive for the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Exposed to the environment, they will now decay rather quickly. I am happy to have photographed them to document the original grandeur of the forest, but sad to know what was lost and how short-sighted humans can be.

I was playing acoustic guitar and having lunch along the Lackawanna River when I saw a mink scurrying along the opposite bank. As I was about to photograph the critter, it was dive bombed by this Cooper's Hawk. The mink dove into the thicket of Japanese knotweed eluding the talons of death. The hawk stayed perched on this limb for several minutes with its wings outstretched and tail splayed in an intimidating don't mess with a bird of prey behavior.
