Wild Trout Man is Dr. Joseph Simons, III. He is the father of three amazing young men. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Wilkes University and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University. He is an avid outdoorsman who loves fly-fishing, camping, kayaking, hiking, scuba diving, nature photography and writing electronic music and soundtracks on under the name:
H O L O M I N D.

He is a conservationist and a champion of cold, clean water. Water is Life. Pristine water that supports native brook trout is his holy water. Conserving this most precious commodity is a cause he holds dear to his heart. Dr Simons serves as President of Eastern Pennsylvania Coalition for Abandon Mine Reclamation (EPCAMR), Vice President of Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association (MSRKA) and Treasurer of Stanley Cooper Chapter Trout Unlimited.

I know your blog post here is several years old at this point, but I wanted to express my gratitude, and admiration, for your work here and on youtube. I discovered your videos a year and some ago, as part of my 're-entry' to fly fishing after a nearly 30 year hiatus. I learned to fly fish seriously while I was a student at Penn State in the early 1990s. What a blast, what streams, what memories! Life got busy, and we moved to Iowa, where we have been raising our family. Where did 30 years go?! I get back to PA at least twice or more every year, and am proud to say I successfully did some blue-lining of my own this summer for the 1st time. That said, Iowa is no slouch: we have some amazing limestone water here that gives up its share of nice trout. Again, thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience!
